Today's Apple Event stared at 3am at the new Steve Jobs Theatre with a tribute to Steve himself and reflections on Hurricane Irma by Tim Cook. He goes on to discuss the opening of Steve Job's vision to create a collaborative space for Apple in 'Apple Park' powered by 100% renewable energy using one of the worlds largest onsite solar installations.

Apple Retail. Apple now call their stores 'town squares'. A place where all of Apple come together. Making things simple and beautiful.. Apple retail is one of their 'largest products'. Where they can, Apple like to create a Plaza. Revised genius bars in their largest stores for a more relaxed environment.

Focus on new Apps to empower new app developers in Swift Playgrounds, Photo Box to help with photography. Discussions go into the new 'Today At Apple' launch platform for their new store vision. Apple plan to open Apple Town Squares worldwide and re-invest in their current locations. Big plans in Milan and Paris for new huge stores including a rebuild of the Carnegie Library and a new Plaza in Chicago.

And now the good stuff. What's being launched.
Apple Watch 3 / 3 Cellular with OS4. Apple Watch growth previous year was 50% on the previous year. Was the #2 Watch.. It is now #1. Customer satisfaction at 97% with series 2. - A short video about Apple Watch follows along with a few inspiring stories about how it's changed and helped lives.

New Apps to help you sync with your Gym. New features enabled by the Apple Heartrate Monitor. The widest used HRM worldwide. Apple have focused on resting and recovering heart rates to more accurately measure fitness. New features to notify you of elevated heart rates with no activity. Heart Rhythm monitoring incorporated also to pre-identify potential onset of stroke. Apple Heart Study. Uses data from Apple Watch - first phase on this study will be available on the AppStore later this year for US customers. OS4 released on September 19th.

A new Apple Watch - Series 3. Introduced by a very water-based video! Has Cellular Built In...Next Month. Apple Watch Series 3 with be Apple Music integrated - 40 million songs on your wrist. New Apple Watch is 70% more powerful with a dual core processor. Siri can now talk on Apple Watch. No need to look at the screen. New wireless chip called W2 - 50% more power efficient and an addition of a barometric altimeter to accurately measure climb and descent plus new ski/snowboard Apps.

How did they manage to squeeze cellular in such a small space? Complete custom design including, or lack of, antenna.. the display itself is an LTE and MTS antenna. A new SIM has been used - an electronic SIM. Nano SIM too big. The case size has not changed at all. The only change is the rear crystal is .2mm extended. Cellular Demo follows..

Fun demo of the new Apple watch being used whilst paddle boarding - live. Sounds good.. works well.. at least on the AT&T network in the U.S.!

The mic quality is awesome... voice quality transmitted even with your arm moving around away from your face makes little difference. New finishes and new bands available. Sports Loop is a neat new band for keep-fitters... Special bands and watch faces courtesy of Apple's partnership with Hermes. Grey and White ceramic finishes now available and all very environmentally safe across the board.

2 versions of Watch V3 USD$399 with Cellular and USD$329 without Cellular. Series 1 and 2 stay in the lineup. Available with Optus and Telstra here in Australia . Orders from Sept 15th with availability September 22nd.

Cinematic Quality to your lounge room.. Apple TV 4K. Resolution is not everything in 4K. 4K is about the number of pixels. HDR is about the quality of those pixels.. Amazing quality using HDR 10 and Dolby Vision. Demo with the latest Dolby 4K HDR Projector in the theatre. Apple have redesigned the entire user interface of the Apple TV 4K to take full advantage. a demo follows.. with is nice but for all of us at home right now or wherever you are, not much to look at streaming over the internet in anything but 4k on all manner of nasty screens! I'm sure it will look amazing on a 4K screen. Uses the A10X Fusion Chip. New Apple TV is twice as fast and the correct with Graphics 4x faster running the latest TVOS.

Apple have made 4K available on all movies in the iTunes store.. anything you have purchased previously will be upgraded to 4K HDR. Apple TV App will be available in Australia end of this month. Huge access to local series on Apple TV. Should be interesting when launched here to see what we have access to, but potentially, Apple TV may become a very, very desirable hub for your home entertainment. Live sports are a big focus on the TV App - and is available for your iPhone and iPad also later this month. Demo of a new game follows. Sky. Nice collaborative game on Apple TV with Siri Remote. 4K will be available from September 22nd.

Tom Cook discusses a history of iPhone and how it's changed industries and lives. A video commences showing the new iPhone.

iPhone 8. and iPhone 8 Plus. A new generation of iPhone. Design is all new. Glass front and rear. Silver, Space Grey, Gold [ new ]. Made from 7000 series aluminium alloy. Glass is a 7 layer colour process and internal laser welded steel and copper structure. The most durable glass ever in a smartphone. 4.7" Retina and 5.5" in IP8+. iPhone display now uses true tone that adapts to ambient light. Better sound - louder and deeper bass. A brand new chip - A11 Bionic.

The most powerful and smartest chip ever in a smartphone. 6 Core processor. 25% faster than A10. 70% faster over 4 Cores, can use all 6 cores at once. Apple GPU is a 3 core and 30% faster than A10 specifically designed for 3D games and Apps. 

Image Signal Processor. ISP. Faster auto focus in low light. New pixel processing and hardware enabled noise reduction. Again, a new camera. 12MP sensor. A very professional look enabling the backgrounds to be lost completely. IP8 has the highest quality video capture ever in a smartphone. 

Apple designed video encoder. Uses clever real- time technology to analyse 2 million tiles per second in video creating amazing 4k video up to 60fps. Ability now to shoot in 240 fps 1080p. Augmented Reality AR. Each iPhone is custom tuned for AR. New gyros, new accelerometer all tuned by AR Kit [ software ]. Demo of AR apps follow. Astronomy, sports and games.

A demo of an immersive AR game follows. Looks neat if that's your thing.. A huge amount of potential there for sure.

Wireless. IP8 has LTE advanced, Bluetooth 5.0. IP8 also has wireless charging. Still retains the lightning port. Using Qi wireless charging standard. Apple pushing to make this a global standard and have it globally accepted. Any Qi chargers will work. Mophi and Belkin have already released Qi wireless chargers. IP8 is 64GB and 256GB. Prices USD $699, IP8+ 64GB and 256GB starts at USD$799. Pre-order 15th Sep and available on 22/9. iOS 11 on September 19th.

Tim Cook continues.. The future of the smartphone. 10 years later, here to reveal a new product. - A video starts. iPhone X of course!... The biggest leap forwards since the original iPhone.. Phil Schiller does the talk. IPX is all screen. Glass front and rear using same formula of IP8. Surgical grade stainless steel. Incredible engineering and design. Water and dust resistant at a microscopic level. Space grey and silver with pearlescent glass. IPX has Super-Retina display. 5.8" diagonal 2436 x 1125 [ 2.7 million pixels ] 458ppi. Uses A11 Bionic Neural Engine to process facial recognition. It uses a dual core design processor 600 billion instructions per second. - in short, real-time. FaceID is continually updating your facial traits so it will always recognise you. Apple have even tried to trick FaceID using professional make-up and masks. No data is ever sent to a server.. it is all done on the IPX.

TouchID was 1 in 50,000 chance that someone could unlock your phone. FaceID is 1 in 1,000,000. So, its very secure. Phil goes on to talk about Animoji's.. A bit of fun to create animated emoji's that replicate your facial expressions. You can create them from within Apple messages. iPhoneX demo.. FaceID didn't work first time and went to passcode entry but worked second time! A quick run-around of the phone.. looks very nice all edge-to-edge. HDR video demo. FaceID is faster than entering a passcode - also integrated with Apple Pay.

A demo of SnapChat follows using the advanced camera on IPX - real-time masks and facial meshing unlock some very cool real-time effects - again, if that's your thing! A short demo of live emoji messaging follows. Cameras in IP10. Dual 12MP Cameras. Faster, wider sensors.. f1.8 and f2.8 on the telephoto. Big news is dual optical image stabilisation. Quad LED true-tone flash. Zero Shutter-lag for absolutely frozen motion. Exceptional low-light performance. Supports portrait lighting as does the 8. Frontside camera, IP10 truedepth camera can also take portrait and portrait lighting selfies. 

Battery now lasts 2 hours more than IP7. IPX has wireless Qi charging compatible with Qi chargers and charging stations. Of course, Apple have developed a charge mat. Will charge all of your Qi devices on it. Your Watch, iPhone, AirPods [ with options Qi Case ] - they all charge on it at the same time. And surprise! It's called AirPower!
